A complete technical SEO checklist for Nuxt sites. How to ensure speed, indexing and security. Tips from Complex Agency.

Технічне SEO для Nuxt: чек-лист розробника

Introduction: why technical SEO is the foundation

Many people think SEO is only texts and keywords. But even the best content won't help if the site is slow, has duplicate pages or "breaks" on mobile.
That's why technical SEO is the base without which organic traffic is impossible.

Nuxt gives huge advantages for SEO thanks to SSR and SSG. However, it's important to configure everything "under the hood" properly. Let's go through the checklist we use at Complex Agency during development.

1. Load speed (Page Speed)

Google loves fast sites. Nuxt is fast on its own, but there are nuances:

  • Image optimization (webp, lazy loading).
  • Caching of static files.
  • Using a CDN.
  • Removing unnecessary scripts.

A practical example: the Dentum site, built on Nuxt, scored 99/100 in Google Page Speed after proper optimization.

2. A proper URL structure

URLs should be short, clear and "clean".
For example: /services/seo-audit instead of /page?id=12345.

In Nuxt this is easy to configure through routing.

3. Metadata for every page

In Nuxt it's important to work with head() correctly.
Every page should have:

  • a unique Title,
  • Description,
  • Open Graph (OG) for social networks,
  • Twitter Cards.

4. Sitemap and robots.txt

Without these files Google simply won't be able to index the site fully.

  • The sitemap is generated automatically through the @nuxtjs/sitemap module.
  • Robots.txt is written to avoid indexing "junk" pages.

5. schema.org structured data

The developer should build in schema.org support:

  • for articles — Article,
  • for products — Product,
  • for FAQs — FAQPage.

This raises CTR in search results.

6. Mobile optimization

Nuxt makes responsiveness easy, but it's important to check:

  • font sizes,
  • button usability,
  • correct display on tablets.

Google's Mobile-Friendly Test helps check this.

7. No duplicate pages

A classic mistake is when the same page is available at several addresses.
It's solved through:

  • canonical links,
  • 301 redirects.

8. SSR and indexing

Nuxt has SSR "out of the box", but it's worth checking that all pages are served by the server. This guarantees that Google sees the content and not an empty div.

9. Analytics integration

Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Facebook Pixel must be connected correctly:

  • asynchronous script loading,
  • no blocking of the main thread.

10. SSL and security

Without HTTPS a site won't earn Google's trust.
Nuxt makes it easy to enable SSL through hosting (Vercel, Netlify or your own server).

FAQ: answering the main questions

1. Should technical SEO be done right at launch?
Yes, because fixing mistakes later is much more expensive.

2. Can you get a high Page Speed without Nuxt?
Yes, but Nuxt makes the task much easier thanks to SSR and SSG.

3. Does the checklist suit an online store?
Yes, but you also need to account for the optimization of product and category pages.

4. How do you check whether a site is technically ready?
Google Search Console + PageSpeed Insights + Screaming Frog.

Maybe don't delay?

Technical SEO isn't a one-off task but part of development.
If you're launching a site on Nuxt, run through this checklist and you'll get a platform that works fast, indexes without problems and brings customers.
